Regular Board Meeting Minutes
January 14, 2016
The meeting for the CAMPA Board of Trustees was held on Wednesday, January 14, 2016. The meeting was called to order at 1:25 PM.
The Board members present were:
Viola Abbott JoAnne Challenger
Dr. Daryl Rock Michele Weekes
Joan Ramsey Deborah Knight
Latoya Massey (Recruitment Consultant)
Larry Hughes was a notified absence.
Visitor present: Janiele Lewis
The November 14, 2015 minutes were accepted with the necessary corrections. The date of October 14, 2015 will be changed to November 14, 2015. The December 16, 2015 minutes were read and accepted.
The members on this committee are Deborah Knight, JoAnne Challenger and Dr. Daryl Rock.
Prior to this meeting Deborah Knight and Latoya Massey (Recruitment Consultant) met to plan how teachers would be recruited… the type of candidate CAMPA is looking for and the schedule for interview. We hope to conduct the interviews at the Charter Center. It was suggested that we send postings to college campuses and network through word of mouth.
Larry Hughes will continue to handle fiscal matters.
Michele Weekes, Joan Ramsey, Deborah Knight are on this committee. They will be responsible for ELA, Social Studies and Science (Wellness). Viola Abbott and Dr. Daryl Rock will be responsible for the math curriculum.
Michele Weekes, Joan Ramsey, JoAnne Challenger, Julia McDonald and LaToya Massey are on this taskforce. The taskforce was charged with deciding the budget and what recruitment activities will used to get students.
The whole Board was recruited for the Fund Raising taskforce.

A suggestion was made about the website… the caricatures should be removed and replaced with wellness symbols and math symbols.
An Open House is schedule for the first or second week in February. It was explained why we are having the open house at the local library.
A decision was made to use the new promotion card developed by the consultant and in the near future, have JoAnne’s contact person, design the second card. One thousand cards and fliers will be printed using the new card.
Viola Abbott reported that $450 was paid to the City Charter Center for use of their services in 2016.
The CSP grant money was approved.
Our visitor, Ms. Janiele Lewis, who represents Adverse Children Experience Study (ACES), CDC.com, spoke briefly to the Board about curriculum and the importance of wellness and integrating it with our entire curriculum. She will give some consideration on how she can work with Board.
A motion was made and seconded to end the meeting at 3:45 PM.
