Regular Board Meeting Minutes
February 11, 2016
The Board meeting for CAMPA Trustees was held on Thursday, February 11, 2016. The meeting was called to order at 1:05 PM.
The Board members present were:

Dr. Daryl Rock. Michele Weekes
Joan Ramsey Deborah Knight
Latoya Massey (Recruitment Consultant)
Larry Hughes was a notified absence.
The minutes for January 14, 2016 were accepted. The corrected minutes for November 14, 2015 were accepted.
Personnel Committee: Deborah Knight, reported
The committee had not met between January’s meeting and February, however, a schedule was outlined in January as to the steps for recruiting teachers. Positions with descriptions will be listed on our website ASAP.
Education Committee: Deborah Knight, reported
I spoke to Janelle Lewis, the visitor from our January meeting. She was suppose to get back to us as to how she could help with our curriculum. As of the February meeting, she had not called back. During the one conversation that we had, Ms. Lewis did mention, we should use Survey Monkey to ascertain what parents are looking for in our charter school. She felt that this would help shape our curriculum.
It was suggested that we look into ENGAGE N.Y. for the basis for CAMPA’S curriculum.
TASK FORCE REPORTS
Recruitment: Michele Weekes, reported
JoAnne Challenger reported that the bus shelter advertisements will run from March 1 to March 31st at the cost of $2835. We will be paying for 3 shelters and two will be free.
Viola Abbott informed the Board that Luwana C. Stanley from CAMBA is willing to help us with recruitment.
Facilities: Viola Abbott, reported
Viola Abbott met on February 8, 2016 with the contractor Chris and consultant Stephanie for a walk through of the facilities. Work on the building will start in the next two weeks. They will work on the building roof first and new lighting around the building.
Stephanie Mauterstock will walk with Latoya Massey to identify classroom space.
Con Edison will put in lights
There will be a meeting with the church, our landlord, on Saturday to discuss the pipe replacement and business pertaining to our lease.
New York State Conference Call: Deborah Knight reported
The state is expecting CAMPA to identify nine controls in our financial policy and then write a brief statement showing that the control works. Examples of some of the nine controls are:
A motion was made by Dr. Rock and seconded by Ms. Weekes that any check over $1000 requires two signatures and any check over $9,999 requires two signatures and one of the signatures must be the chair or vice chairperson. The vote was unanimous.

A motion was made and seconded to adjourn the meeting at 2:57 PM.
